The Finnish men’s national football team did not score a single goal in the first two matches of the Nations League. However, a few Huuhkaja players in the club teams have been swinging the goal nets diligently.

Striker Benjamin Källman has been in great shape in Cracovia of the Polish league. Källman has scored five goals and provided six assists in 11 matches since the start of the season. He can’t really tell the reason for his goal streak.

– It just feels like it’s going and the self-confidence is strong. Through success, I have found my own way to play.

Källman does not consider himself to be physically or technically in better shape than before, but it is specifically about good flow. Goals need more than that.

– It also requires that the players around you are also fit and that the style of play is one that suits you. As a team, we have also started this season very well.

Cracovia is third in the league before the international break. There are only two points behind the top team Lech Poznan.

Huhkajien’s Goal Account not opened in the League of Nations

Finland will face Ireland on Thursday and England on Sunday in the Nations League. The target account is therefore still unopened. According to Källman, the Huuhkajie’s changes in the way they play require adaptation from all players.

– I wouldn’t say that it requires a lot especially from the attackers.

How would you score the first goal in the Nations League on Thursday? Källman’s answer starts from the basics.

– Playing with the ball needs to be improved. It starts with how to break into the opponent’s box and get scoring opportunities. Then you also have to put the ball in the bag.

Nations League matches on TV2: Finland – Ireland on 10.10 at 21:00 and Finland – England on 13.10 at 18:15.
