The Support Group for Islam and Muslims (Jnim, in Arabic), affiliated with al-Qaeda, claimed responsibility on Friday January 10 in a press release for the attack that killed at least 28 Beninese soldiers on Wednesday in the north of the country, in the border with Niger and Burkina Faso. This attack aroused strong emotion in public opinion and in political parties of all persuasions.
