Patrick Verkooijen, of the club’s Advisory Council, already told us what problems members encounter. He called the situation “dire”. For example, parents would no longer be able to pay the contribution and young members increasingly come to play football without breakfast. “Normally it is very clear: if you do not pay a contribution, you are not a member. But at the beginning of this season we thought: there is so much going on with the inflation and energy crisis that we cannot just let those youth members suffocate.”
