Ben Affleck returns as director 7 years after flop – for a shoe

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

After his acclaimed work Gone Baby Gone, The Town and most notably Argo, Ben Affleck was considered a major directorial hope in Hollywood. For example, he should direct a Batman film with himself in the leading role. Then the star was thrown back by personal problems. In addition, his ambitious and expensive gangster drama Live by Night flopped disastrously at the box office.

That was in 2016, and Affleck hasn’t directed another film since. Now he returns for the true story about the most famous shoe in the world.

Ben Affleck’s Nike Movie: Watch the first trailer for Air

Air – Trailer 1 (English) HD

Air is the name of the biopic Ben Affleck cast himself for. He also brought his childhood friend Matt Damon on board.

This is what Air is all about: The sports shoe brand Nike is now a gigantic name that is known to everyone. However, things were a little different in the 1980s. At this time plays the biopic penned by Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, in which Nike is still more of a third choice behind its competitors. However, Nike representative Sonny Vaccaro (Matt Damon) wants to change this. His goal seems unattainable: He wants to negotiate an exclusive contract with rising basketball star Michael Jordan so that he becomes the face of the brand – the birth of the Air Jordans.

Getting to Jordan proves to be a long and tedious process, but Vaccaro persists in his plan. He keeps getting closer to the basketball player, through his advisors and friends, former coaches and last but not least his parents, especially his strong mother.

When does Air start in German cinemas?

Air already has a German cinema release: Beginning April 6, you can catch Ben Affleck and Matt Damon on camera together. Read more about Ben Affleck’s new movie plans here: Ben Affleck lashes out at Netflix – and explains how he intends to do better.
