Belarus accuses Poland of encroaching on Belarusian airspace. According to Minsk, it was a Polish helicopter.
The statement comes from the Ministry of Defense of Belarus in a written communiqué. According to the ministry, the Polish helicopter flew into the country’s airspace twice on Thursday afternoon.
Skirmishes and recriminations have characterized the recent relationship between Warsaw and Minsk, with Poland accusing Belarus of being a loyal supporter of Russia and its war of invasion in Ukraine.
Poland has also strengthened its border guard against Belarus
In August, Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Blaszczak announced that additional forces were being ordered to the border as a deterrent.
