A first teaser trailer was recently released for the film adaptation of the novel, which was created by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and DB Weiss. The story of the complex adaptation begins in 2007 with a series of deaths. All over the world, scientists commit suicide for no apparent reason. Nano-scientist Wang Miao and policeman Si Qiang investigate related strange incidents, which eventually lead them to stumble upon a mysterious virtual reality video game.

It is precisely this video game that is teased in the first teaser trailer for the sci-fi series. This is a simulation game in which civilizations settle on a planet with 3 suns until they destroyed again by unpredictable radical weather changes become. The aim of the game is to find a way to calculate the chaos.

Apparently, the story structures from the video game are somehow related to the mysterious deaths in the Netflix series’ main story. The video game itself is probably only part of the background story.
