Before the launch of Remix Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard is fulfilling the WoW community’s biggest wish

After the battle royale mode Plunderstorm, the next experiment for World of Warcraft is scheduled for May 2024. To ensure that you have enough character slots for the time-limited level event surrounding Mists of Pandaria, Blizzard is fulfilling an often-mentioned wish from the community.

What kind of event is planned for WoW? Almost a week after the release of WoW patch 10.2.7, WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria starts. This is a limited-time event that allows you to level through the entire Pandaren expansion with newly created level 10 characters.

The accelerated leveling experience at level 70 also includes the dungeons and raids of Mists of Pandaria – including the Throne of Thunder or the iconic Battle of Orgrimmar.

You can master this thanks to customizable equipment that is intended to noticeably strengthen your alter ego. You can also earn fresh rewards and loot across all MoP content – including transmogs, mounts and special achievements that become heroic deeds after the event.

What request came from the community? It’s hard to believe, but there are many WoW players who, after almost 20 years, have reached the maximum limit of 60 characters per account. These “heavy twinkers” would first have to delete an Azeroth adventurer in order to be able to take part in Remix: Mists of Pandaria.

Accordingly, after the event was announced on Reddit, in the official forum and on social media, we often read players asking whether Blizzard could increase the maximum number of characters that could be created.

Blizzard and the patch notes

And what is Blizzard doing? Well, in the first version of the official announcement of the event, the developers even included a subparagraph in which there was talk of an increase in character slots. However, this sentence disappeared with a later update from Blizzard.

The players who noticed this were correspondingly confused in the official WoW forum. Is the increase coming: Yes, no, maybe?! A few hours ago, community manager Kaivax finally provided clarity:

“With the Dark Heart patch, we will be increasing the maximum number of characters you can create on a WoW account from 60 to 65.”

Many players are celebrating this announcement. But there are also a few people who note that five additional character slots might not be enough with a view to the upcoming expansion The War Within. how do you see it? Are you excited for the customized tour of Pandaria? Tell us in the comments!
