It’s actually surprising that Deadpool hasn’t had a superhero adventure with one yet imaginary friend has experienced. This would fit perfectly with the tone of the Ryan Reynolds-led Marvel franchise. Instead, the cheeky Marvel hero gets to team up with Wolverine in a big crossover film next year.
Reynolds will also star in the fantasy comedy IF – Imaginary Friends in 2024, in which he has to deal with several special personalities who are not so easy to grasp. Maybe they just exist in the mind of a young girl. The first trailer shows exactly what we can expect from it

The story tells of a young girl (Cailey Fleming) who has a special gift: she can other people’s imaginary friends see. They have long since been abandoned by their original children, as they are now adults and no longer have room for the friends they once wanted.

IF – Imaginary Friends sounds like that Live-action version of a Pixar film à la Everything is upside down. Behind the project is actor John Krasinski, who most recently established himself as a director with the A Quiet Place films. He directed, wrote the screenplay and produced IF. He also appears in front of the camera.
Along with Reynolds and Fleming, Krasinski is one of the stars we see as people in IF. We also see familiar faces of Fiona Shaw, Bobby Moynihan, Louis Gossett Jr. and Alan S. Kim, known from Minari. However, the cast is not yet exhausted. IF has a considerable cast of other actors who play the imaginary friends lend their voice.

And if you’re wondering where you know lead actress Cailey Fleming: She was in The Walking Dead for 53 episodes Judith Grimes, the daughter of Rick and Lori Grimes. In addition, she appeared as young Rey Skywalker in Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens and embodied the young Sylvie in the 1st season of Loki. IF marks her first major motion picture in which she plays a leading role.
When does IF – Imaginary Friends start in the cinema?
We’ll have to wait a little longer until the imaginary friends are allowed to rotate freely on the screen. IF – Imaginary Friends only starts on May 16, 2024 in German cinemas. A few weeks later, the next Ryan Reynolds blockbuster is just around the corner. Deadpool 3 will be released at the end of July.
