Ahead of Sweden’s European Championship qualifying meeting with Austria in Vienna tomorrow, national team captain Janne Andersson admits that the team selection has been extra tough this time.

— Yes, there are several positions in which we have good competition. I can’t say any specific but it has been sharp on some. As the national team captain, I am ultimately responsible, but there are five of us who work very closely with this. There have been many discussions about the selection of the team where not everyone thinks the same, which shows how difficult it can be, he says at a press conference.

Andersson believes that it has been one of the gatherings that has caused the most debate during his time as national team captain.

— It has been one of the times we have discussed the team selection for the longest time. I have to admit that. Ultimately, however, it is my right and duty to make the decisions.
