Bedbugs have invaded Paris: “Hell”

During the summer, moviegoers testified about bedbugs inside the theaters. And this week, a train on metro line 8 was taken out of service after a train driver saw bed bugs on board. Local authorities, businesses and residents are now struggling to get rid of bed bugs.

– No one is safe. You can get them anywhere, bring them home and not notice them until they have multiplied and spread, warned Deputy Mayor Grégoire on X.

Want to see special group against bed bugs

After almost completely disappearing in the 1950s, bed bugs are now back – more resistant to chemical treatments, writes the Guardian.

Paris is set to host the Olympics next year and the city’s city hall has turned to the government for help. Earlier this week, several representatives wrote to Prime Minister Élisabeth Borne and requested a special group to overcome the problem.

Next week, transport minister, Clement Beaune, will gather representatives of various travel companies to “inform about measures and how to do more to protect travelers”, he writes on X.
