Because it shows why Sony’s PS5 exclusives absolutely have to appear on Steam

A gamer is showing off just how awesome a former PS5 exclusive can look on PC. Many hope that Sony will stick to its strategy and continue to bring formerly exclusive titles to the PC.

With the generation change from PS4 to PS5, or from Xbox One (X) to Xbox Series X, game consoles received a huge performance boost. But something else happened: Sony is now introducing more and more former PS5 exclusives for the PC.

And one gamer shows that’s the right move. Because former, exclusive games look much better on the gaming PC – if you can afford the appropriate hardware.

Spider-Man on a triple monitor setup wows community

A gamer posted a nearly 1-minute video on reddit. It shows him playing the former PC exclusive “Spider-Man” on a triple monitor setup. You can see him swinging from a rooftop through downtown New York at breakneck speed. And that looks really good. We have embedded the video (and the post) here for you:

Many gamers from the community explain under the post that gaming looks really fantastic with his setup.

But there is also a catch and that is the price: Such a triple monitor setup is not cheap. The 65-inch LG C2, which the gamer uses, costs 1,800 euros per model alone. For the entire setup, including the gaming PC, it should easily be 8,000 or 9,000 euros that you would have to put on the table. Some also explain a little longingly: They could only afford such a setup if they won the lottery.

The PS5 should therefore continue to have a permanent place in the living room of many gamers. Nevertheless, many believe that Sony must continue to bring its games to the PC. Because such setups show how much good PC setups can get out of the games. Unless there are severe performance issues, like The Last of Us.

Sony has been bringing exclusive PS5 games to PC for a few months now

In 2022, Sony increasingly pursued a new strategy of bringing their “first-party games” to the PC via Steam. These are the games that were actually always made exclusively for their PS4 and PS5 consoles and were considered “system sellers”. And this strategy had huge success in 2022: Sony made a lot of money with former exclusive titles that were now released for the PC.

With games like

  • Days Gone
  • God of War
  • and Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered
  • Sony had huge success on Steam. And those are just three titles that we would like to name as examples.

Sony also stated that they would continue to bring “existing games” to the PC. In the future there should therefore be more games for the PC that have been traded exclusively for a long time.

Incidentally, one of these “system sellers” is coming to the PC later this year and has already delighted the critics on the PS5:
