The day after tomorrow the high water will reach the parking lot outside the dike in Wijk bij Duurstede. The water board is therefore raising the water level at the inlet of the Kromme Rijn. This provides counter pressure against the rising water in the Lower Rhine and the Lek. The floodplains and low-lying meadows in the region are expected to remain flooded until after the New Year.
