Too many emotions, swimming, allergies… You’ve definitely had the bitter experience of panda (or raccoon) eyes at one time or another, in other words, makeup ruined due to humidity. Fortunately, there are tips to limit the damage. Here’s one straight from a beauty expert’s TikTok account!

Heartbreak, leaving party, sudden announcement, or heightened sensitivity, whatever the reason, crying fits can happen at any time and anywhere, with the risk of ruining your makeup for the rest of the day. While it is difficult to prevent this inconvenience, unless you are a fan of waterproof (and even then), it is possible to save your makeup thanks to a specific beauty routine, very easy to do. In any case, this is what the professional makeup artist claims Joelle Phillips in a tutorial shared on TikTok, and viewed nearly 100,000 times.

In response to another content creator, Shonda Martinmakeup artist Joelle Phillips shows you how to quickly fix makeup ruined by tears. To do this, you’ll need a soft-bristled brush, concealer, an eyebrow brush, and a powder puff. These tools and products are essential for repairing any damage caused by a crying spell. It’s therefore advisable to always have them on you, or within reach, to deal with this type of inconvenience. Once you have these beauty essentials together, all that’s left to do is put them into practice.

According to the professional makeup artist, the first mistake to avoid is to redo your make-up right after crying. Contrary to what you might think, you should actually wait for the tears – and therefore the makeup – to dry before applying new products. The goal is to not ruin your makeup further. Once your face is dry, you should use an eyebrow brush to remove the clumps and makeup residue formed by the tears – and definitely not do it by hand – in order to have clean and smooth skin.

Then, simply apply a concealer. Here again, the expert recommends using a soft-bristled brush instead of the concealer brush itself, and tapping slowly to make the product penetrate without spreading it roughly. Then, simply let the concealer dry, then blend it all out using a powder puff to evenly distribute the product. The final step: apply a specific spray or powder to set the whole thing. That’s it! You will no longer have any reason to fear a potential crying fit, in the middle of the street, with friends, or at the office.
