A young man is seriously injured after being attacked by a bear in Mora municipality, reports SVT News Dalarna.
– There has been some type of hunt and a young, adult man is being attacked, says Mats Öhman, press spokesperson at Police Region Bergslagen to SVT.
Police and emergency services were called to Venjan during Friday morning.
– He is taken to hospital by ambulance and we are on site and investigating the circumstances surrounding the hunt, says Öhman.
The man’s relatives must have started treatment on the spot and alerted SOS Alarm.
It is currently unclear whether the bear has been shot and the elk hunt that has been going on in the area has been stopped until further notice.
– I do not know. An interrogation is being held to investigate what has happened, says Mats Öhman.
The bear attack is the fourth in a short time, according to TT. In August, a hunter and his son were attacked by a bear in Ljusdal, and shortly afterwards there were two more attacks on hunters in the Hammarstrand region and in Tågsjö.
