Finland defeated the Czech Republic 0–2 in the quarterfinals of the European final tournament of the Beach Volleyball Nations Cup.
In the meeting of the first pairs Niina Ahtiainen and Taru Lahti-Liukkonen were lost For Barbora Hermannova and For Marie-Sara Stochlova 20–22, 22–24.
Kylie Neuschaeferova and Marketa Svozilova beat the second pairs in the middle Anniina Parkkinen and Vilhelmina Prihtin 26–24, 21–19.
The loss crushed Finland’s hopes for an Olympic place, which would have required a tournament win.
