Olympics in Paris 2024

  • Ahead of the Olympics: Homeless people are evicted to “clean up” Paris

  • Andreas Kramer on the form before the season: “I hope nobody has high expectations”

  • But even more important: They are now ready for the Olympics in Paris this summer.

Åhman/Hellvig were previously selected by the Swedish Olympic Committee (SOK) and have played together with enough ranking points. But in accordance with volleyball’s qualifying rules, they needed to play one more competition to be formally ready for Olympic play, as one of 24 pairs.

For David Åhman and Jonatan Hellvig, it is an Olympic debut and a new step in a rocket career where in just a few years they have become two of the sport’s foremost. In 2022 they became European champions.

The last time Sweden participated in beach volleyball in the Olympics was in 2004 in Athens, when Björn Berg and Simon Dahl finished in ninth place.
