Be careful if you subscribe to Disney+: the platform is (again) increasing its prices

Disney+ has already increased its prices for new subscribers. If you already had an account, you will also pay the costs.

It is not with subscriptions to platforms of streaming that you will save money. After Netflix, another giant in the sector increased its prices a few months ago. Since October 17, only new subscribers have paid the price. But from November 21, this price increase will concern those who already had an account.

Starting this Thursday, all Disney++ subscribers will have to pay these new prices, which will appear on their next billing cycle from this date. In detail, the standard subscription goes from 8.99 euros per month to 9.99 euros per month (99.90 euros per year) and the premium subscription, which was previously at 11.99 euros per month, will now cost 13.99 euros (139.90 euros per year). Only the subscription with advertisements retains its price of 5.99 euros per month.

And this is not the only change awaiting Disney+ subscribers in the coming weeks. If you benefited from the contents MarvelStar Wars, Disney or Pixar thanks to your Canal+ subscription, this will soon no longer be the case. From 1^er January 2025, the streaming platform of Mickey’s firm will no longer be included in the Intégrale, Intégrale+ offers and the Ciné Séries Pack.

Interviewed with france info, Christophe Pinard-Legry, DG in charge of the budget at Canal++, justified this decision by the fact of having “not found acceptable terms with them for our subscribers which would allow us to renew this partnership. We wish to remain accessible from a pricing point of view”.

As a result, editorial changes to the Disney channels took place on November 19 on Canal+, with name changes for access to Disney Channel, Disney Junior, National Georgraphic and Nat Geo Wild. To benefit from all the Marvel films, to see the new series Star Warsor to have access to Disney and Pixar animated films while having a subscription to myCanal, you will therefore need to subscribe to an additional Disney+ subscription from the start of 2025, at the prices mentioned above.
