BC Nokia will face Bulgarian Rilski Sportist in the first qualifying round of the Champions League qualification.
BC Nokia, who won the Men’s Basketball League championship last season, will meet Rilski Sportist from Bulgaria in the Champions League.
BC Nokia plays in the opening round against the new champion of Bulgaria. The winner will face the Portuguese SL Benfica in the second qualifying round. The Champions League qualifying tournament will be played from 15 to 22. September The venue will be announced in July.
The opponent in the final match of the qualifying tournament comes from the second group. Azerbaijan’s Sabah, Sweden’s Norrköping and Switzerland’s Fribourg will play in it.
The qualifiers are played as four six-team tournaments. The winners advance to the regular season of the Champions League. Reaching the group stage therefore requires a win in every qualifying match.
The winner of BC Nokia’s qualifying tournament will end up in the same group with Spain’s Bàsquet Manresa, Italy’s Derthona Basket and Germany’s Niners Chemnitz.
