British Prime Minister Rishi Sun too A police officer working in the security team was arrested on suspicion of betting on election day, reports the British Broadcasting Corporation BBC.

The police officer was arrested on Monday on suspicion of official misconduct, London area police told the BBC. He was later released on bail.

The suspect of betting has been relieved of his duties, the police say.

Sunak announced in May that the country’s early parliamentary elections would be held on July 4.
