BBC apologizes for claim about Rowling

Leksand extended the winning streak beat AIK

In “Good morning Scotland” the controversies surrounding the video game “Hogwarts Legacy” were discussed and two players had to give their views on the “culture war” surrounding the game. In the past two years, the author has been in the spotlight for comments perceived as transphobic.

However, following the programme, the BBC received complaints that it had “falsely attributed transphobic views to the author”. The BBC now admits that claims were made about JK Rowling’s views, announcing: “We accept that the program failed to challenge these claims and acknowledge that the cast were allowed to present their views as fact.”

In the podcast “The witch trials of JK Rowling”, Rowling recently said that fans “deeply misunderstood her point of view”.
