Farmer Saskia is considered the absolute dream woman in the current season of Farmer Looking for a Woman. The farmer with bright blue eyes was extremely well received by the applicants. When she greets her candidates on the first morning of the Hofwoche, there is a nasty surprise: One leaves head over heels on day 1.
Farmer Saskia welcomes her candidates: This is where an embarrassing faux pas occurs
For personal reasons, Christmas tree farmer Saskia was unable to take part in the barn festival. This means that she gets to know her candidates directly on her own farm. The two chosen ones could hardly be more different in appearance: mechatronics engineer Martin is tall and sporty, while roofer Raik impresses with his calm personality.
Candidate Martin immediately made an embarrassing mistake: When he met Raik for the first time, he asked cluelessly: “You’re the brother?” Embarrassed, Raik had to deny this: “No, I’m a competitor.” But Martin didn’t mean his faux pas in a bad way: in an individual interview, he even praised his competitor for his good style.
Departure on the first morning: Raik decides to leave
It became clear in the last episode that roofer Raik seemed a bit insecure next to his sporty competitor. But farmer Saskia didn’t give him a reason for this: After the individual dates with the men, she was enthusiastic about her candidates and immediately invited them both to a week of getting to know each other on the farm.
But on the first morning there is a surprise. When Raik and Martin arrive from the hotel, Raik drops the bomb: He wants to leave the farm straight away. But it’s not Saskia’s fault, as he assures her: “You’re a great woman, very pretty, absolutely likeable, great smile.” Nevertheless, his decision was made.
Fear of competitors? That’s why Raik leaves on day 1
The reason for his departure may surprise many: Raik cannot cope with having a competitor on the farm. Thanks to Martin, he simply couldn’t be himself:
I decided to leave early, because I just couldn’t get out of myself if there were three of us. I’m just not the type for that.
The fact that Raik recognizes his own limitations must of course be respected, but the reasoning is still very surprising. After all, competition has been completely normal at Bauer sucht Frau since season 1: Almost all farmers first invite several candidates to the farm week, before a favorite is chosen after a few days who can stay longer. He leaves it open whether Raik was simply afraid of losing to his competitor.

Farmer Saskia cannot understand the decision. She would have liked to have Raik on the farm longer: “It’s a real shame. I would have been very happy to get to know you further.” Nevertheless, she has no bad feelings towards Raik: “I wish you all the best for your future.”
But Raik wouldn’t have offended the farmer’s wife with his rejection. She appears sensitive in the interview:
