Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mode will not be supported

DICE has reluctantly announced that they will focus their energies elsewhere instead of the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mode. It has also become clear whether the mod will remain in the game.

Producer DICE has announced that they are suspending development for the Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mod. DICE, which could not evaluate the positive effect it created after Battlefield 1 in the sequels of the series, had a very painful debut in its newest game, Battlefield 2042, which could not meet the expectations of the players.

The developers, who struggled with the game’s mistakes as well as low player numbers and bad evaluation scores, seemed to be able to regain a certain player base with the updates they brought in the continuation of the process.

Will Battlefield 2042 Hazard Zone mode still be playable?

With the release of Battlefield 2042 in November 2021, Hazard Zone was one of the first modes to welcome players. In the game mode, which can be played in teams of 4 as PvP or PvE, players are tasked with collecting important data from downed satellites. DICE announced in a blog post that they will not continue to develop Hazard Zone and are focusing on fixing bugs of the mod.

DICE: “We were very hopeful and ambitious as a team for a new Battlefield experience. Unfortunately, we are again the ones who have to raise our hands and admit that the mod has not been able to adapt in Battlefield 2042. We think that if we put our energies and focus on game modes that we find popular, everyone will benefit.” He also states that Hazard Zone will remain playable. However, Hazard Zone will not be included in the listings for the first and follow-up seasons, which will start in June 2022 after a rather long delay.
