    A third of French people today say they are anxious at the idea of ​​the smartphone battery failing. This feeling is exacerbated among the youngest, since this proportion rises to 64% among 18-24 year olds.

    According to this OpinionWay survey, battery failure now presents itself as a real “phobia”, especially among the youngest. 64% of 18-15 year olds fear their battery will let them down. This proportion drops to 53% among 25-35 year olds.

    In fact, this also results in some impromptu behaviors such as preferring to be late rather than taking the risk of leaving with an uncharged battery (42%), a trainer voluntarily at someone’s house (23%) or ordering in a bar (19%) to finish recharging the battery. More fun, 42% of 18-24 year olds and invoke battery failure to conveniently interrupt a phone conversation or videoconference.

    In the event of a battery failure, 18-24 year olds are especially afraid of missing a text or a phone call (41%), of being deprived of a GPS (28%) or of being stuck somewhere (27%) .

    Unsurprisingly, the French therefore favor new fast charging technologies. The manufacturer Oppo, behind this survey, is also known for its SuperVOOC 2.0 65W charging technology, which allows the Reno4 Pro to be fully charged in just 36 minutes. For 80% of 18-24 year olds, this type of technology is now essential.

    Note that the most energy-intensive activities concern connection sharing, watching streaming videos or playing video games.

    This study was carried out online by OpinionWay for Oppo, on February 10 and 11, 2021, with a sample of 1,002 people representative of the French population aged 18 or over.
