Bat ruling in the case of the province of Utrecht has consequences for making homes more sustainable, but there is hope

Bat ruling in the case of the province of Utrecht

The case in which the Council of State ruled today concerned the insulation company IsoSun from Best. That promised to be able to work faster and cheaper than the competition by conducting the bat research with only a movable camera. That saves time, effort and money. For example, the company promised to settle the matter in five weeks. But the province of Utrecht felt that the company was not carrying out the mandatory bat research with sufficient care in this way. At the provincial government it was decided to impose a penalty on the company to stop using the rapid investigation method. The company appealed against this with today’s decision of the Council of State as the final station. That ruling is bad for the company: the quick way of investigating does not comply with the law, is the verdict.
