– It’s fun, I like it. That’s how I used to play. That’s how you play outside in Europe, it’s just that you can’t do it at home in Sweden. Everyone gets so used to seeing it, says Frida Eldebrink to the Norrbotten newspapers.
She was involved in a duel with Luleå’s Josefin Vesterberg, went to the floor, at the end of the match.
– I probably shouldn’t comment on that situation, but I don’t think it was sporting, says Vesterberg.
Luleå close to catch up twelve point deficit
Luleå seemed beaten several times, especially when they were behind by twelve points at the beginning of the fourth period (52-64) but almost managed to catch up to 63-64 before Södertälje could pull away again.
Klara Lundquist had the most playing time in Södertälje (33.06) and had to take the penalty. Ten of her team-best 16 came in the form of free throws.
Luleå missed his three-point attempts
The end was very physical with tough duels and timeouts and when a gambling Luleå didn’t get in their three-point attempts, Södertälje was able to find a way to victory with a safer game.
An inspired Luleå ran away in the first period and led a couple of times with eleven points. Södertälje sealed the deficit to 18-21 in the period break and turned the game around at the halftime break when they led 42-35 and had taken control of the game, which, however, lived into the final minute.
