Nacka’s son Pelle Larsson, who played in BC Luleå before moving to the United States to study and play college basketball, was selected this summer by the Houston Rockets, as the 44th player in the NBA draft.
He was immediately traded away to the Miami Heat, and there he has had a good start.
“Nice game¨
Last night, he scored the final and decisive point in the finals of the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, which Miami won 120-118 against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Larsson got the ball in the right offensive corner of the court, before taking a back route into the center of the court and putting the ball in the basket to give Miami their 120th point of the game. That, according to Summer League rules, was what was required to win the game in overtime.
– The coach had drawn up a nice game that we have done in training a number of times. Then my teammates did a good job to make sure I could put it, Larsson said after the match, according to American media.
16 final points
The NBA Summer League is a pre-season tournament, where mainly newly drafted players and players who have not yet started playing in the NBA participate.
Guarden Larsson accounted for 16 points and four assists in the final, among other things.
Jonas Jerebko and Jeffrey Taylor are the only Swedes who have played in the NBA so far. Bobi Klintman was also drafted this summer.
