A baseball player Joni Rytkönen suspected cases of harassment proceed to the handling of the Sports Ethics Disciplinary Committee administered by the Olympic Committee.

The investigation into Rytkö revealed suspected serious ethical violations that targeted minors. According to Suek, the case is about sexual harassment.

The case concerning Joensuu Maila’s player Joni Rytkös was the subject of a disciplinary claim Juha-Mikko Hämäläinen under consideration. Separate closing statements were requested from the parties involved.

Based on the investigation material, Hämäläinen decided that the case would be taken to the Sports Ethics Disciplinary Board administered by the Olympic Committee.

– In addition to the manner of doing it, what makes this a serious ethical violation is, among other things, the fact that the target has been minors and the activity has lasted for about half a year, Hämäläinen, who presented the disciplinary requirements, states in Suek’s press release.

Secretary of the Sports Ethical Disciplinary Board Johannes Koskenniemi confirms that the disciplinary claim has arrived for consideration by the board.

– The claim is resolved according to our rules. It goes to Rytkönen first and we ask him to answer it. How the matter is handled depends in part on the answer.

According to Koskenniemi, the schedule for processing the case will be refined during the fall.

A police investigation is also underway

Earlier this week, reported that a preliminary police investigation is also underway into Rytkönen’s case. A criminal report was made to the police.
