The cordons that closed off parts of central Stockholm during Sunday evening were lifted at 02.30 on the night of Monday.

The suspicious bag that was found outside a restaurant in connection with a concert at the ongoing cultural festival is being taken care of by the National Bomb Squad and there is currently no more information about what the bag contained, the Stockholm police announce on their website.

The alarm came in at 9:40 p.m. and Strömbron, Strömgatan and part of Kungsträdgårdsgatan were closed to traffic and buses were routed around the area.

The concert had to be canceled but the festival around the city continued through the night.

At 02.30, traffic had once again begun to be released and large parts of the roadblocks had been lifted. A small cordon remains where the bag originally stood – a technical examination will be carried out there.
