Campaigning for the European elections with his Rural Alliance list, Willy Schraen does not mince his words with regard to Jordan Bardella and the European Parliament.
“I don’t care about Bardella. I don’t care about anyone.” The tone is set for Willy Schraen. The head of the National Hunting Federation is campaigning in Occitania with the Rural Alliance list, which he will defend in the European elections on June 9 alongside Jean Lassalle. In an interview with The Dispatch, he delivers his vision of the European Parliament, which he intends to join. And defends himself from carrying out a masked campaign for Emmanuel Macron by sucking up votes for the National Rally in rural areas.
“Take anyone’s votes”
“I am ready to take the votes of anyone,” says Willy Schraen, while acknowledging having “voted personally for Emmanuel Macron in 2022”. On the other hand, the boss of the hunters does not hide his antipathy for the list of the National Rally: “The rural people have not understood what the National Rally is preparing for us”, he affirms, before specifying: “We cannot not to say that we are against traditional hunts and that we defend the rural world like Jordan Bardella does.”
“The ecological and animalist European technocracy”
The Rural Alliance list also focuses its campaign on denouncing the numerous standards imposed by the EU, denounced by the angry movement of farmers at the start of the year. “The overabundance of European standards (400,000) is more than indigestible,” laments Willy Schraen. According to the latter, “the agricultural world is corrupted by the ecological and animalist European technocracy, which really needs its testosterone levels to be raised!”
