In the past year, BankID was used to make identifications and signatures 7.1 billion times and the number of unique users was estimated to reach a whopping 8.5 million.
Last year, of registered Swedes aged 18-67, 99.4 percent had a BankID, according to company statisticsand the majority of those who use the service do so on a mobile or tablet.

BankID introduces new system requirements on June 3
News24 has previously reported on how BankID will stop working on several mobile phones on June 3. This concerns, among other things, certain variants of Huawei’s phones, but also several models of iPhone phones from Apple.

In the latter case, it concerns new system requirements for iOS that come into effect. This means that other Apple products, including tablets, are also affected.
More specifically, the following models of tablets from Apple will no longer be able to use BankID, as they do not support iOS 13:

According to Charlotte Patakypress officer at BankID, users have received information about this in the app since December.
– Our most important mission is to ensure that BankID is a secure and accessible e-identification. When older devices and operating systems no longer meet our high security requirements, we need to stop supporting them. We always strive to offer BankID for the mobiles and tablets that our users have, but when a technology platform does not receive any security updates, the level of security is too low. We regret the problems it causes users who cannot update their device to iOS 13, she tells Nyheter24.
