Bangladesh: Flood warning system still not very effective

Bangladesh Flood warning system still not very effective

After weeks of political upheaval, Bangladesh has now been facing massive flooding for five days. And although the water is gradually receding, nearly 4.5 million people have been affected and nearly 300,000 have had to seek refuge in emergency shelters, according to emergency services. While its cyclone early warning and evacuation system is often praised for its effectiveness, the country does not have the same tools for flooding.
