In Bangladesh, more than 2,500 people have been arrested in the crackdown on student protests against the measure that have been rocking the country since early July. At least 174 people have died and a curfew has been imposed. The situation has been made all the more disturbing by the total blackout of communications since July 18. The authorities have announced the return of internet and telephone connections, but they remain very weak.
