With just over ten minutes left to play, Ted Hedell came on the left side and lifted the ball to Teemu Määttä who tipped the ball in and 2-2 was a fact.
– What an incredible turnaround we make in the second and we fight for 90 minutes. We showed against Bollnäs that we are good at turning games around. We must continue and set a tight defensive and know that Västerås will come out hard on Saturday. We don’t have the biggest stars but are the best team to play together, says Määttä.
If you give Edsbyn the little finger, you will be stabbed right away. A couple of minutes after the equaliser, the same Määttä stood in front of the goal and scored 2-3.
“We will win the next game”
– It was just a matter of putting the ball on the goal, explains Määttä.
A shocked Västerås, which was dominant and confident in the first half, took a timeout but never managed to catch up. All three semi-finals have been won by the away team.
– It feels as if we should have scored another goal at the beginning of the second half. There are small margins, I don’t know if they created much and we have to become better “killers” in the boxes where the matches are decided. We will go up and win the next match, says VSK’s Jesper Jonsson.
After 34 years, the bandy final is coming back to Västerås. It will be played on March 16.
