Tekken 8 developer Bandai Namco has issued a stern warning to fans trying to access the closed beta test from dubious sources.
Even though it’s been almost a year since Tekken 8 was unveiled at Sony’s State of Play event last September, the excitement is still high with new trailers and character descriptions.

Through the use of Unreal Engine 5, Bandai Namco has revealed many more characters, and many characters have been redesigned or their models greatly improved. However, the second closed beta test, which started last weekend on July 24 and ended on July 31, gave many fans real first-time access to Tekken 8.

The limited-time test gave fans access to all the characters announced so far, and while there aren’t any new characters on this list, it at least gave players a chance to play with new mechanics and features like Tekken 8’s Heat System. After testing ended, some players found a way back to beta testing.
Unauthorized access to Tekken 8 Beta test is under threat
The double statement from Tekken and Bandai Namco Esports is an important reminder to fans after the beta test was discovered to be broken, stating that players who managed to access the Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test played beyond the stated end time.
According to Bandai Namco, this action violates their terms of service and is against Tekken’s code of conduct. Also, unauthorized distribution or downloading of the game is illegal. Bandai Namco’s message stated that any player who had access to beta testing without prior permission could be disqualified from the upcoming Tekken World Tour and other official events.

For Bandai Namco, breaking the beta test was only part of the problem. During the first weekend of beta testing, the Cheat Engine not only made its way to the PS5 release, but also leaked six more unannounced Tekken 8 characters before the developer was ready to reveal them yet. What happens next is eagerly awaited.
