Ban wave from Valve to CSGO accounts

CS:GO accounts worth more than $2 million have been banned. Valve has blocked about 40 CS:GO accounts for illegal trading.

In June, gambling sites CSGOEmpire and rival gambling site CSGORoll published a table listing CS:GO accounts they accused of being part of cryptocurrency laundering. According to Dexerto, all but one of the accounts in this document were among those caught in the latest ban. There was also speculation that Valve was targeting them on purpose.

In a statement on Twitter, the owner of CSGORoll denied the money laundering charge and also stated that the site is not gambling. “I own a gamified skin trading platform,” wrote CSGORoll, adding that “by law, this platform is not classified as a casino in our largest markets, as we do not offer cash withdrawals.” Steam’s online rules also restrict users’ business activities on the platform, including “hosting contests, gambling, selling or buying Steam accounts, selling content, gift cards or other items”.
