What are the Golden Joystick Awards? The Golden Joystick Awards is an annual video game awards ceremony held in the United Kingdom. The Golden Joystick Awards were first presented in 1983 and have honored the best games and developers in various categories every year since.
The winners are determined by votes from players and fans. Voting takes place online and everyone can take part. This year the awards ceremony took place on November 20th – and for the first time since 2019, the awards took place in person in London and were broadcast live worldwide.

Baldur’s Gate 3 emerges as a big winner at the Golden Joystick Awards
Baldur’s Gate 3 secured the following awards at the 2023 Golden Joystick Awards:
Larian Studios, the development studio behind Baldur’s Gate 3, was honored as Studio of the Year, while talented voice actor Neil Newbon earned Best Supporting Actor for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate 3. The game won an impressive seven Golden Joystick Awards.
This number represents the largest achievement for a single game since The Witcher 3 at the Golden Joystick Awards. In 2015, The Witcher 3 secured five awards, including the coveted title of Ultimate Game of the Year.

Which other games received awards? Two games, in addition to Baldur’s Gate 3, also won several awards at the Golden Joystick Awards this year, the popular game Final Fantasy XVI and the expansion Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty.
