The character editor of Baldur’s Gate 3 (Steam) gives you the possibility to freely define your genitals, body types and pronouns.
Baldur’s Gate 3 will be released on August 3rd for PC and will bring with it a range of customization options for your character. In addition to 11 playable races and 12 different classes, you can also make decisions that make you the ultimate villain, for example.
The role-playing game wants to offer you the opportunity to experience your own individual adventure. This is not only reflected in 17,000 alternative endings, but also in the character editor.
The US online magazine Kotaku learned from lead artist Alena Dubrovina exactly how the character editor in Baldur’s Gate 3 works and what customization options there are for the different races. The developer also explained that you have the opportunity to freely determine your genitals, body types and pronouns.
Genitals can be chosen regardless of body type
What is this choice? As revealed by lead artist Alena Dubrovina, Baldur’s Gate 3 lets you choose your character’s genitals and even customize their pubic hair. Which genitals you choose is independent of your body type or your pronouns.
According to this, there should be four different body types, which are not identified by the gender symbols, but are numbered consecutively. There are smaller and larger statures to choose from.

What else was shown about the character editor? Another small highlight that could be seen in the character editor is the dragonborn race’s reptilian tail.
In some comments on YouTube, players are pleased with the customization options, although according to Dungeon and Dragon lore, Dragonborns don’t actually have tails.
