– We have done well, but we are careless every now and then and go on adjustments that they do well. Otherwise, I think we are the ones running the match, Hammarby’s Emilia Larsson told Viaplay at half time.
Larsson had two late chances to give his team and the match was postponed. A long shot hit just outside and a nod from close range went over.
In line with the course of the match Hammarby took the lead. Norwegian Vilde Hasund eased in 1-0 in the 54th minute, on an input from the left wing by Emilia Larsson.
Shortly before that, midfielder Emelie Löfgren had a golden opportunity to put Djurgården in the driver’s seat, but her nod from close range missed the target.
Djurgården took over more and more. Tilde Lindwall advanced, created a shooting position, pulled to the left and the equalizer drilled into one corner with just over a quarter left.
The decision came in overtime.
Hammarby forced forward a corner and on it Elsa Karlsson put her forehead to the ball which gave the victory and a wild celebration.
– Amazing what an incredible job the players do. We have an attitude like only that today, says coach Pablo Pinones-Arce to Viaplay.
