Councilor Suna hopes to meet the wishes of local residents with the latest adjustments. “We had good conversations with the environment and with experts. That gave us a new mindset,” he says. “The badger working group in Twente, where the badgers were going to move to, asked why the animals could not simply stay in Soesterberg. Is that possible, I asked. With a few adjustments, this turns out to be very possible. We are not taking the place of residence of the badgers. That’s more pleasant for people and animals.”
