A man in his 30s in northern Värmland is sentenced to prison for two years and one month for serious weapons offences, reports Nya Wermlands-Tidningen.
This after the police found a semi-automatic pistol, with associated ammunition, for which the man lacked a license in connection with a house search. He claimed he had borrowed the gun to protect his cat against a badger and had tried, without luck, to return it to the owner.
The weapon was lying open in the home. The man stated that he used to keep it in the brick block, but that in the days before the house search he heard the badger screaming.
People with substance abuse problems lived in the same home, and the man himself is also convicted of drug offences, after several different types of drugs were found in the home. Among other things, cocaine and home-grown cannabis.
