As the children prepare to go on Christmas vacation, the 2023-2024 school calendar was published a few days ago. Find out what are the dates of the future school year, but also the holidays according to the zones.
Every year, parents (and tourism professionals) eagerly await the dates of the start of the school year and the holidays. Parental organization, choice of stays, registration at the leisure center and other family imperatives are obviously key topics in French households. Good news, on December 9, the Government posted the 2023-2024 school calendar online, but also the schedule for the years to come, namely the 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 school calendars; something to delight lovers of the organization!
Back to school 2023: the start of the school year will take place on September 4 for students
If the 2022-2023 school year is far from over, we have known since December 9 that the next school year will take place on September 4, 2023 for all students. Teachers will have to return to school on September 1.
For the next few years, the start of the 2024-2025 school year will take place on Monday, September 2, 2024 (August 30 for teachers). As for the 2025-2026 school year, it will be held on Monday September 1 for students and Friday August 29 for teachers.
School calendar 2023-2024, dates of school holidays
As a reminder, the All Saints holidays and the Christmas holidays are common to the three French geographical areas. From the winter holidays, holiday dates differ depending on the residential areas. Thus, for the 2023-2024 school calendar, the dates of school holidays are:
- All Saints Holidays 2023 : from Saturday 21 October to Monday 6 November
- christmas holidays 2023 : Saturday December 23, 2023 to Monday January 8, 2024
- Winter vacation 2024 :
- Zone C from Saturday February 10 to Monday February 26, 2024;
- Zone A from Saturday February 17 to Monday March 4;
- Zone B from Saturday February 24 to Monday March 11.
- Spring Break 2024 :
- Zone A: from Saturday April 13 to Monday April 26, 2024;
- Zone B: from Saturday April 20 to Monday May 6, 2024;
- Zone C: from Saturday April 6 to Monday April 22, 2024.
The end of classes and the beginning of the summer holidays will take place on Saturday July 6, 2024.
