Back to flying between Italy and Libya after 10 years

(Finance) – With the ITA Airways flight from Rome to Tripolifrom today theItaly and Libya once again have a direct commercial air link after 10 years. It is the result of the agreement reached after the meeting held on 9 July between the president of ENAC, Pierluigi Di Palma, and the Minister for Communications and Political Affairs Walid Al Lafi, together with the President of the Libyan Civil Aviation Authority (LyCAA).

On board the first flightLibyan Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Mohammed Dbeibeh, present yesterday at the Foreign Ministry at the International Conference on Development and Migration, which saw the participation of Heads of State and Government and Foreign Ministers of the enlarged Mediterranean Region, the leaders of the European Union and the main international financial institutions.

The Libyan Prime Minister was accompanied, in his return trip, by a representation of the Italian transport system, led by the President of ENAC Pierluigi Di Palma, by the General Manager Alessio Quaranta and by Fabio Nicolai, Central Director of Operations and Technical Standards. The delegation was also composed of the President of Aeroporti di Roma Vincenzo Nunziata; by the President of Enav Alessandra Bruni; Alberico Parente, Marketing Manager of ENAV; Francesco Presicce Accountable Manager of ITA Airways; the President of Aeneas, a consortium of Italian companies engaged in the reconstruction of Tripoli airport, Elio Franci and the Consul in Libya Eleonora Bonvini.

From the next fall Also Medskythe Libyan airline, will begin operating to Italy, strengthening connections with our country.
