PREMIUM BAC. As every year, the banks offer bonuses to young graduates according to the mention obtained. What gain in 2022? In which bank? We tell you everything.
[Mis à jour le 8 juillet 2022 à 08h11] Like every year, shortly after the baccalaureate results, most French banks offer various bonuses to young baccalaureate holders in return for opening a new account. To reward young graduates, bonuses ranging from 15 euros at 160 euros will be granted in 2022, generally in proportion to the mention obtained. For example, the CIC offers a bonus of 160 euros to students who have obtained the mention “Very good”! The premium is 80 euros to the Societe Generale for holders of Sobrio or Jazz. A way for banks to win new customers, and for BAC holders to start with a small advance on their brand new bank account. In some banks, the bonuses granted depend on one region to another, as at Crédit Agricole.
To obtain this bonus, a sine qua non condition exists, regardless of the bank to which you wish to go: it is mandatory to provide your transcript of the baccalaureate exam. Be aware that the baccalaureate aid distributed by banking establishments is not the only possible reward for young baccalaureate holders, themerit aid also exists. It is granted to the most deserving scholarship students, it is a complement to the scholarship based on social criteria. It is thus intended for baccalaureate holders with modest incomes, who have obtained a Very Good mention in the baccalaureate and who wish to continue their studies. If your student social file (DSE) is accepted, you have no other steps to take. The rectorate directly sends the Crous the list of graduates who have obtained a Very Good honour. The Crous will inform you if you can benefit from this merit aid of an annual amount of 900 €. Also, some regions offer merit-based aid for graduates. Inquire with the region to find out the conditions of attribution, and the possible accumulation with the aid on merit of the State. Crédit Agricole is made up of several regional banks. Credit Agricole Lorraine was arguably one of the most generous banks last year. Crédit Agricole Lorraine, for example, opted for an offer in the form of a gift voucher (50 euros in Kadéos check, valid from July 6 to September 30). This year, the devices of the various regional funds were not revealed.
Caisse d’Epargne is also made up of several regional entities. The Grand Est fund does not offer a bac bonus as such, but an offer with different Youth formulas, for its customers aged 18 to 28, “depending on your daily needs”. As a general rule, the premiums increase according to the mention. 15 euros without mention, 40 euros for a fairly good mention, and 50 euros for a good or very good mention. But each region applies its own premiums.
Until September 17, 2022 and on presentation of the BAC diploma, Société Générale offers a bonus of 80 euros to all its baccalaureate customers, with or without mention, from 16 to 24 years old, holders of Sobrio or Jazz. To which is added a welcome bonus of €80 for new customers, aged 16 to 24, when opening an account. New customers can thus combine the two bonuses and obtain €160.
BNP Paribas offers an offer equivalent to that of Société Générale. The bonus was 80 euros for all graduates, regardless of the success of the graduate, for any opening of a bank account. “The 80 € will be paid within 3 months of the date of opening your deposit account”, could we read on the dedicated page of BNP Paribas last year. “In the absence of proof of obtaining the baccalaureate, the bonus of 80€ will not be granted and the standard Esprit Libre rate will be applied in accordance with the Guide to conditions and rates for individuals available in the agency”. This operation is valid until September 2, 2022.
This year, the CIC is particularly generous with the lucky ones! Until 160 euros bonus to high school students who have performed the most. A sum paid to graduates obtaining the mention “very good”. For a “fairly good” mention, the bonus is 40 eurosand for a mention “good” 80 euro.
To benefit from it, you will have to open a savings account within the banking establishment. “Offer reserved for winners of the BAC 2022 from France having obtained a mention Fairly Good, Good or Very Good, valid until 09/30/2022 on presentation of the transcript”, can we read on the site. “Only one offer per winner. The sums will be paid into a savings account CIC opened or to be opened in the winner’s name. See conditions in the agency or on cic.fr”.

To obtain a bonus for the baccalaureate, you must also turn to your municipality, region or department! Aid is indeed paid by some local authorities. HAS Montrouge for example, a grant of 800 euros is provided for high school graduates with honors and 400 euros for high school graduates. This aid can be used to acquire computer equipment, take a language course, pay registration fees for higher education or even finance a driving licence.
HAS Drancy, an aid of 50 euros is planned for the baccalaureate holders having obtained the honors enough, 100 euros for the honors and 150 euros for the honors. The city of Nice offers 150 euros for the most deserving baccalaureate holders.
The South region grants a bonus of 400 euros for non-scholarship holders and a scholarship of 400 euros for three years to scholarship holders. For the Pays de la Loire region, the aid amounts to 200 euros for non-scholarship holders and 400 euros for scholarship holders.
The Île-de-France Region is renewing the merit aid of 1,000 euros for the sixth year. It concerns graduates from the Ile-de-France who have obtained a very good mention in the 2022 baccalaureate, whose families have low incomes, who benefit from the student grant and who are continuing their studies in Île-de-France. “Once these conditions have been met, there is no procedure to take”, we explain on the dedicated page of the Region. “The Region will pay eligible students, through the Crous de Paris, the regional scholarship in the amount of 1,000 euros during the 2022-2023 academic year”.
