While the baccalaureate specialty exams begin this Monday, March 20, unions call for a movement of strike during these early reviews, to pressure the government against the pension reform. The 536,081 candidates who pass this first bac test therefore risk being affected by delays, particularly in transport. Teacher unions have also announced a strike by supervisors during these specialty events. Faced with this mobilization, the Minister of Education Pap Ndiaye has planned a device to allow the good performance of these tests, the results of which will be taken into account in the examination of the Parcoursup files. The Ministry of National Education has announced a system for students taking the specialty tests, from March 20 to 22, 2023:
- additional supervisors will be mobilized during the tests,
- In case of delay of candidates due to transport strikesadjustments to the time of the test will be organized so that they can benefit from the entire scheduled duration of the tests;
- In the event of difficulties, the necessary arrangements will be made to allow candidates access to examination centers in connection with the departmental prefectures

here are the dates of the 2023 general and technological baccalaureate exams:
- Specialty written tests: Monday 20, Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 March 2023.
- Advance written French tests (for Première students): Thursday, June 15, 2023, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
- Philosophy exams : Wednesday June 14, 2023, in the morning.
- Great oral : from Monday June 19 to Friday June 30, 2023.

Independent baccalaureate candidates have the same dates and the same tests as the other exam candidates.

What is the date of the 2023 baccalaureate results?
This year, the results of the general, technological and professional baccalaureate will be published from Tuesday, July 4, 2023. The events of the second group, therefore catch-up, will take place until Friday July 7, 2023 inclusive.
What are the dates for the baccalaureate retakes?
Following the results of the baccalaureate, candidates with an average between 8 and 10 can take the catch-up between July 5 and July 7, 2023.
The usual mentions are maintained this year. But from what grade do we get a mention in the baccalaureate ?
- Mention Fairly well for an average between 12 and 14;
- Mention Bien : between 14 and 16 on average;
- Honors : between 16 and 18 on average;
- Mention Very good with the congratulations of the jury for an average greater than 18.
What are the dates of the replacement tests?
For students who have not been able to take the terminale examinations and those of première, there is a replacement sessiont to be able to take the exams.
► For the general and technological baccalaureatethe replacement written tests take place on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 September, as well as from Monday 11 to Wednesday 13 September 2023. “The anticipated written tests, whether taken for the 2023 session or in advance for the 2024 session, are scheduled for Friday, September 8, 2023” says the Ministry of National Education.
► For the vocational baccalaureate, the replacement session takes place from September 5 to 15, 2023.
Advance and final tests
For the 2023-2024 session, the subject coefficients have changed. The final exams represent 60% of the final baccalaureate mark. Of the 100 coefficients, 60 would be obtained in the context of anticipated tests or final tests:
- Advance examinations for the French baccalaureate at the end of first year: written, coefficient 5; oral, coefficient 5.
- The two tests for specialty lessons followed in terminale: coefficient 16 for each of them.
- The philosophy : coefficient 8 in the general route, 4 in the technological route.
- The Grand Oral Baccalaureate (coefficient 10 in the general route, 14 in the technological route.
Continuous control coefficients
40 of these coefficients would be obtained with continuous control calculated according to the student’s general average, which takes into account the averages for the year of the final cycle school report cards.
- All the disciplines of the common core which are not the subject of final tests (modern languages A and B, history-geography, physical education and sports, scientific education for the general route, mathematics for the technological route) would have a coefficient of 6 (3 in 1st, 3 in terminal);
- Specialty education (abandoned at the end of first year) would have a coefficient of 8 (ie half of the specialty education retained by the candidate in the final year);
- Moral and civic education will have a coefficient of 2 (1 in première, 1 in terminale). It contributes to the acquisition of the values of the Republic and secularism, and will thus be distinguished in the evaluation.
