In recent months, the Babylights trend has been driving social media into a frenzy. What does it consist of? How to adopt it? Let’s do a check in.
As summer approaches, many of us want to display a radiant and luminous complexion. A “good glow”, which requires work on the complexion, but also a suitable haircut. And what’s better than balayage to achieve a “sun-kissed” effect, like back from vacation? This new trend has a name: babylights.
Babylights: a sunburn for your hair
The advantage of Babylights? Bring a boost of light and sunshine to your hair.
This technique allows you to subtly lighten your locks to obtain a “sun-kissed” effect, similar to that produced by the sun’s rays.
Babylights is thus inspired by classic balayage but twists it with its “return from vacation” effect: the highlights appear much more natural.
A luminous shade which is reminiscent of the blonde of Californian surfers… and which has already seduced many celebrities.
- Ask your hairdresser to take very fine sections of your hair, from the front and back of your head, to color them.
- Then, choose a color that harmonizes with your natural base. Babylights are successful when they are barely lighter than your hair color, creating a sunny effect without too much contrast.
- Finally, to maintain the radiance of your babylight, use (and overuse) moisturizers. Of course, use hair products suitable for colored hair.
Good to know : the babylight requires few touch-ups. Regrowth is more discreet, allowing you to space out hairdresser appointments. Practical !
