De Speeldoos and the Eemland Library, which both struggle to make ends meet in their outdated municipal buildings, had been working on the merger for almost eight years. According to the theater director, De Speeldoos has spent about 76,000 euros on it so far. The city council decided last night, led by VoorBaarn, GroenLinks, CDA and independent councilor Jelle Jonkers, that the institutions each remain in their own place.
