The motion, submitted by independent councilor Tino Schouten and the VVD, was supported by coalition party VoorBaarn. The Christian Union and 50PLUS also spoke out against a possible wind turbine. The council members pointed out the proximity of the Sherpa care institution, where stimulus-sensitive people with intellectual disabilities live. They also fear the consequences for nature, meadow birds, a nearby horse boarding stable and other companies and residents in the area.
