How to listen to a podcast? follow the leader.

Charlotte Baris: Yes, you read the title of today’s podcast correctly: “The dictator and the bedbugs”. At the beginning of last fall, you couldn’t have missed the media hype around these little creatures which had, it seems, invaded our homes, our trains and even our cinemas. Well, today you’re going to find out that these bedbugs have something to do with a small country on the Caspian Sea, between Europe and Asia. Recently, during one of her investigations, a journalist from L’Express went through the thread of publications on social networks mentioning these pests. And she quickly noticed that many accounts that were helping to amplify this phenomenon were linked to Azerbaijan. The tone of these posts: “It is not good to live in France”.

This story may seem amusing, but it is actually part of a broader strategy of Azerbaijan, in conflict with its Armenian neighbor. In the region, tension is rising, but is it to the point of seeing a new war? The answer in this episode of La Loupe.
