Aylmer man, 57, killed after vehicle crashes into utility pole

An Aylmer man died after crashing his vehicle into a utility pole Monday, police say.
Emergency crews responded around 6:30 pm to a single-vehicle crash on South Street West, where the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle were taken to hospital in St. Thomas and pronounced dead, Aylmer police said Tuesday.
The identity of the deceased, a 57-year-old Aylmer resident, wasn’t made public and the cause of the crash was under investigation.
A stretch of South Street West, between Wellington and Raglan streets, remained closed until Tuesday morning while police completed their investigation and hydro workers repaired the damaged pole.
Man charged in stabbing in Pond Mills neighborhood

A London man is charged in a stabbing in the Pond Mills neighborhood that left a male with serious injuries, police said Tuesday.
The male was injured in what London police described as a “serious assault” on Commissioners Road East, just east of Pond Mills Road, at about 3:30 am on Feb. 18.
The force’s major crime section launched an investigation and appealed for witnesses to come forward.
A 25-year-old London man is charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest, police said Tuesday.
The accused remains in custody and is expected to appear in a London court on Thursday.
Man charged over online threats
A 22-year-old Norfolk County man faces charges following an online dispute.
Norfolk OPP were called to a Main Street South address in Waterford just after 9 am on Sunday. A dispute between two people who were communicating online included threats, police said.

The accused has been charged with uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm and disobeying a court order, Ontario Provincial Police said, and was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Police seek tips in theft from storage unit
Police are seeking help from the public to identify those responsible for a theft from a storage unit.
Norfolk OPP were called to investigate a break-and-enter to a storage unit on Grigg Drive in Simcoe at about 12:15 pm Sunday.
Overnight or in the early morning hours someone forcibly entered a storage unit and removed a black 2011 Miska flatbed trailer, a white-and-orange Bobcat MT85 skid-steer loader that bore Craddock Landscaping stickers on the sides, and video surveillance equipment. Anyone with information relevant to this investigation is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122.
