Finnish roads are now deteriorating at a record pace

The road pavements planned for this year will have to be canceled because higher oil prices have raised the price of the pavement. The fairway agency estimates that about 2,300 kilometers of roads will be re-paved when the need would be 4,000 kilometers. In the summer, Destia will perform laser scanning measurements on 40,000 kilometers of road, which will show the actual condition of the roads. There are more roads in poor condition than ever since 1990.

Ralf Friman has worked for 28 years longer than the average Finn

Finns retire after an average of 36 working years. Careers are lengthening, but slowly and mainly in the oldest age groups. For example, periods of unemployment and family leave, as well as early-onset disability pensions, cut and shorten careers. Lohja resident Ralf “Frille” Friman is an exception. He has been in employment for over 64 years and continues to do so.

The week starts dry and warm

During Monday morning, there will still be isolated showers in the north and east. However, the weather will subside in the afternoon and the temperature will rise to a maximum of 20 degrees in the south.
